19 Miles Today
Well, I hit another milestone today. 19 miles!! I started out by walking a mile to meet up with my teammates. Then, together (with three dogs in tow), we headed out to the park on Plano & Renner Roads in Richardson.

Alice, one of our teammates has a birthday coming up this Wednesday and several of her friends planned a surprise luncheon at the park. Before we got there, Alice kept talking about turning around and heading back home due to an early afternoon appointment. Well, we talked her into going at least to the park. Gosh, was she surprised!

For that matter so was I, and I knew about it! Her friends had 2 picnic tables in the gazebo draped in linen tablecloths and set with fine china, silver and wine goblets (for our water). The adjoining side table was filled with an assortment of scrumptious salads and breads and was even adorned with a huge flowering mum plant. I believe the only thing missing were candelabras and a strolling violinist!

After lunch, they realized it was getting too late for them to walk home in time to drive and pick up their kids from school, so they rode home with their girlfriends. I went ahead and walked home, took a quick shower, ran an errand, then headed out again. I ended up walking the last six miles to Run On to pick up another pair of socks and then back home again.

I'll admit it was pretty darn hot at 95 degrees today. But, I stayed in the shade as much as possible and also drank about 4 quarts of water while walking. Feet feel good and legs do too. I was mostly tired and hungry by the time I called it quits at 5:30 p.m.

Oh yes, I almost forgot. I found two dimes and teammate Laurie found one and gave it to me for my stash. I'm up to $1.47 in coins found on training walks now...

Thought for the day:
Desire + Dedication + Determination = Success
