5.5 Miles Today & Water Aerobics
Walked to the C&S Hardware store this a.m. to get some extra house keys made. Then popped over to Whole Foods for a Smoothie. After another hour or so of walking back in my own neighborhood, I stopped by the fire department and had a nice young paramedic check my blood pressure. I was just curious what my numbers are when I've been out walking in this heat. Nice surprise.... 113/73

Finished my training today with a half hour of swimming laps in the pool along with water aerobics.

Wednesday, August 15- 0 Miles
Took mom to her orthopedic doctors appointment in the morning and to her physical therapy session in the afternoon. She continues to heal slowly, but well. Looks like it will take maybe another 4 weeks until this is all over.

At noon, I went to Baylor to listen to Dr. Osborne speak about "The Power of Exercise" relative to cancer treatment. Good topic for me since I'm doing all this walking and I'm a cancer survivor.

In the evening I went to Gilda's Club for a program on BRCA issues. Very enlightening discussion by a physician from UTSW. And, this was my first visit to Gilda's Club. It is a beautiful building and the programs and support for cancer patients are quite extensive. I plan on going back and spending some more time to learn more since I quite often recommend the place.
