July 4th - 7.5 Miles
Got up early this a.m., shorts on, sneakers tied and filled my back sack with water, apples and almonds. Had just gone about 4 houses down when I came under Skeeter attack. Thought about going back home to spray myself down with repellent, but figured I'd be late meeting my teammates. So, for the next mile, I was doing the "Mosquito Mambo", shaking my arms & legs and swatting at skeeters as I walked and sometimes jogged to get away from them. At times, I smashed 3 and 4 at a time on my legs, no kidding. Heck, if the terrorists want to reek havoc, mosquitos would be a good start!
As I got to Alice's house, I saw her outside at her car and didn't bother to say hi, I just yelled out "you have any mosquito spray?".... I figured she would since she has two kids and mom's always have everything. And, yeah, she did so we sprayed ourselves down well. Met up with Robyn at the end of the block and even though she "never" gets skeeter bit, she was under attack also.
The walk was good but the air was very heavy and humid. As I was leaving Alice and Robyn to head home, Alice offered a car ride, but I still wanted to log a few more miles. Have to say her offer was tempting though.
July 3rd ~ Yoga
Finally got back to training this a.m. It was good to see my "Yoga-mates".. even Bharati our teacher had a big grin. Nice to be missed!
June 25 ~ July 2
Total hiatus from training.... my street, Waterview Dr. literally had a water view all week. Were those really fish jumping out of the puddles in the street or was it a mirage? I will have to make a better effort to walk in the rain since the Breast Cancer 3 Day goes on rain or shine in the future. Also spent time with friends battling cancer last week in addition to going to my own doctor appointments.
