Today was just 2.5 miles.... I figured it would be good to rest after yesterdays long hike.

Saturday, May 12 ~ 13.5 Miles Walked
Started out early in the a.m. with my neighborhood 2.5 mile walk with Bogie. When I got home, I ditched Bogie and then headed out to a friend's house in Canyon Creek and back home. I have to say that it didn't take long for me to realize three of lifes pleasures that will no doubt be huge for me in the upcoming months: a breeze, downhill streets and shade!

I've also started looking at telephone poles differently these days. They are no longer telephone poles, but "stretching sticks" for me. After the first 5 or so miles of walking, I look for a nice shady spot with a telephone pole. It's great to use to put my hands against as I stretch my legs back and also arch my back. I never thought that walking could make your back sore/stiff, but it does.

After the big walk, I ate a quick lunch, jumped in the shower and Richard and I were off to our second Indian cooking lesson with Bharati. Today it was lentil soup. It really was delicious, but was it ever hot! All of us were looking for water after our first taste! She also made a vegetable and rice dish, but it was also a scorcher. Could it be the 3 dried chili peppers and also the tablespoon of ground red pepper? :0)

When we got home, I took the dogs for a half mile walk. All-in-all, it was a good day with a total of 13.5 miles walked.
