The last 24 hours have been challenging at best. I spent almost 2 hours on the phone last night with a dear friend in Michigan who was diagnosed with a brain tumor last Friday. Then, this morning, another girlfriend called to ask if I'd visit with a friend of hers just diagnosed with breast cancer. And, I visited with yet another friend at length today who was just diagnosed with nasal pharangeal cancer.
In the middle of all this, another friend took her husband to the ER last night with congestive heart failure. He is facing a heart cath, possible stent or by-pass surgery today or tomorrow.
And, to top it all off, I just finished baking some Pizzelle to take to my delightful & courageous new friend who had a bi-lateral (double) mastectomy this morning.
Walking was just not a priority for me today. Heck, I can walk anytime. Time is not a luxury for those who are facing probably their greatest life challenge and I hope that just maybe I can make a difference for them. So, 0 miles walked today. There is always tomorrow!
