7 Miles & Water Aerobics
Started out this morning at 7:00 a.m. and made my rounds of the neighborhood..... quit early to get ready for the annual Joanie Hatcher Survivor Event held at the Anatole. This is a wonderful event for breast cancer survivors that Jim Hatcher started in memory of his wife Joanie who lost her battle to breast cancer at age 49 in 1992. Since I am a two time breast cancer survivor (in addition to the lymphatic, thyroid, lung, vulvar& skin malignancies) and am 49, this event meant a bit more this year. I never got to know Joanie Hatcher, but I'm sure I would have loved her all the same.

I also took two more breast cancer survivors with me to the event today and they really enjoyed it. Once you've been once, you always look forward to it.

When I got home, I put on my walking clothes and shoes and hit the sidewalks again. Logged another few miles and then, when I got home, swam laps in the pool and added water aerobics. All-in-all, I logged a measley 7 miles. Must do better tomorrow. Will try for an even dozen.

Thought for today:
I still miss those I loved who are no longer with me, but I find I am grateful for having loved them. The gratitude has finally conquered the loss. ~ Rita Mae Brown
