5.0 Miles & Aerobics Today
I got a late start today and it was just too darn muggy to go walk. So, I went to the Richardson Senior Center and used their treadmill. I think this is the 3rd time I've ever been on a treadmill (first two times were for stress tests). After logging two miles, I realized I had the machine set at an impressive incline... No wonder walking was more strenuous that usual... After re-setting the incline, I was able to "cruise" at 4 m.p.h., my normal speed. Best I try to pay attention to all those buttons and readouts on the machine, duh...

But, I have to say, that the treadmill is boring. Didn't have a choice on the TV which was set on CNN. I don't mind the news, but sometimes a little goes a long way.

Took mom to her physical therapy session and then ran errands. Spent much of the afternoon at Gilda's Club for a new members orientation. It is a terrific facility with a remarkable program for cancer patients, survivors, family and friends. Even though it is not convenient to North Dallas, I would encourage anyone dealing with cancer to check it out. There are a multitude of resources at Gilda's Club including wellness groups, an art program, lecture series, nutritional information, a library, internet access, an enormous kitchen that hosts cooking classes (among other events), an exercise program with an instructor compliments of Texas Oncology, meeting rooms and a great area for kids (with cancer, or other family members or friends). And, the best part is that it is ALL FREE OF CHARGE! Here's the website, go ahead & take a look: http://www.gildasclubtx.com/
