6.5 Miles Today
Kick started my morning with JOE & JOE. Got up at the break of dawn, poured a cup of low octane joe, started the car and then played a great old high energy Joe Cocker CD on my drive to Canyon Creek to walk with two of my buddies and their dogs. It was exceptionally humid this morning; even Janie's cocker spaniel Casey thought so. At one corner, she just sat down and refused to go forward. When we gave in and turned to head toward the house, and she was up in a flash (I swear I saw a grin on her furry little face knowing she'd be in a/c shortly!)

Got home around 8:30, make breakfast for mom and I then hit the sidewalks again.... total of 6.5 miles today.

Monday, July 30 - No Training
Today is my "official day off" from training. Instead, spent the early hours of the morning at the endodontist finishing a root canal. Not too bad as Dr. Bruce has a TV mounted on the ceiling and you get to pick what you want to watch (movie or tv). I opted to watch The Golden Girls which is always a hoot.

Also took mom to her orthopedic doctor and mom's making progress. He OK'd her to ditch the sling and she'll start her physical therapy on Wednesday. None too soon as she's ready to get back her independence. (guess that's where I get my determination from :o) Looks like she should be able to move back to her apt. in a week or so.
