O Miles Walked ~
Today I went to Yoga at the Richardson Senior Center instead of walking. Would have walked to yoga, but had mom's computer fixed yesterday and I took it back to her first thing. She, at 82, is addicted to her AOL and email!
Yoga was great as usual. Today, Barahti changed some of the poses. A new one involves doing the splits from a sitting position. I don't think anyone in the entire room was able to do it. I know I sure couldn't. Even my futile attempt left me with trying to figure out how to get my right foot back to my body. I had to smile and laugh on that one! I wonder if I'm getting any taller from all this stretching......
In case I forgot to write WHY I'm doing yoga, I'll tell you now (or again as the case may be). The Breast Cancer 3 Day suggested training includes cross training (you pick what). With my missing lung part, asthma and recent surgeries, I decided I'd better find an indoor exercise for when our summer heat bombards us here in Texas. Not only that, but yoga is recommended so often by doctors for so many different reasons, I thought "why not give it a go". Wish I had started years ago, really.
I'm also going to add water aerobics to my training mix soon. (Soon means as soon as the water in our pool is tolerable; I'm a cold water sissy!) My 20 year-old nephew was here for a few days and I suggested he take a dip which he did. I'm pretty sure the water is still cold based on the size of his eyes when he surfaced (isn't that what aunts are for? :o)
